Alive
This site came alive on the 26th of july 2005. The name was given in spring 2002 (!). Yes, 3 years ago. I didn't knew a thing about webdesign back then. And I certainly didn't had any plans (or wanted) to learn how to make digital art.

I use Paint Shop Pro 8 to create my art and (very sporadic) Photoshop 7. About 90% from the artworks you see here is created with brushes only. All brushes are created by me. There are several reasons for not using brushes that are made by others. One of the reasons is that (when I just started) I never could find the 'ideal' brush. In the end I was spending more time looking for resources then spending time to learn something. An other reason for using my own resources is the fact that I'm able to give each artwork something can be recognized as 'John's work'. The site is created with help from Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, while some other things are coded by hand.
